Animal Control

The mission of Animal Control is to provide enforcement of municipal ordinances and state laws regarding animals and to respond effectively and efficiently to all animal bite cases and to test for rabies when warranted.

The City Of Clute Animal Control Division operates under the Clute Police Department.  The ACO patrols the city and is responsible for animals who are injured, stray animals, animals running at large, and aggressive animals.  The Animal Control Officer also responds to and investigates animal bites, and enforces city ordinances addressing the regulation and care of animals.  The Animal Control Officer regularly attends and receives extensive training to enhance his knowledge and ability to perform his duties.  When off-duty, patrol officers respond to animal calls.
