The City of Clute is served by numerous day cares, private and parochial schools, the highly regarded Brazosport Independent School District (13,006 students) and Brazosport College.

College/Universities:  Brazosport College is a two year institution involved in academic and vocational curricular.  The college works closely with local firms in preparing and presenting special training programs.  Other major colleges and universities within commuting distance include:

Medical
Clute is served by the Brazosport Regional Health System, which with its various facilities and offices serves as the major medical center for Brazosport and surrounding communities.  BRHS houses 165 beds and offers specialty care in the following areas:    Cardiology; Oncology/Hematology; Dermatology; Diagnostic; Family Practice; Gastroenterology; Internal Medicine; Pediatrics; Physical/Occupational, Speech and Respiratory Therapy; Surgical Specialties; etc.

The Brazosport Cancer Center, adjacent to BRHS, provides state-of-the-art cancer treatment including Radiation Therapy, Chemotherapy Services, and Support and Counseling services.

Housing
Clute has available housing stock in single family and multi-family facilities.  A new subdivision with approximately 500 homes is currently in Phase IV of its development.

Recreation
Clute is virtually in the center of numerous recreational opportunities, including access to 23 miles of nearby public beach (Surfside, Bryan, and Quintana  Beaches), over 72 acres of city parks, and numerous County/State/Federal parks or wildlife refuges.  Situated only 7 miles from the Gulf of Mexico and within 10 miles of the San Bernard and Brazos Rivers and on the banks of Oyster Creek, Clute, and the surrounding areas offers all imaginable water sports.  In addition, only an hours drive up the Nolan Ryan Expressway (SH 288), Houston offers major league football, basketball, baseball and numerous other recreational opportunities.

Cultural
The Center for the Arts and Sciences is located on College Boulevard in Clute and is home to the Brazosport Fine Arts Council, Brazosport Art League, Center Stages, Brazosport Museum of Natural Science, and Brazosport Nature Center and Planetarium.  Community Concerts, Museums and Historical Sites are within a short distance of the city.
