TxDOT’s Houston District and the city of Clute are partnering on a year-long Active Transportation Plan (March 2026–Spring 2027) to improve walking and cycling infrastructure in the car-dependent city, connecting neighborhoods to schools, civic centers, and transit hubs through safer, more connected routes that also support economic development. Public outreach begins in summer/early fall 2026.
