The mission of the Finance Department is to provide timely, relevant, and accurate financial information to the government managers, City Council, and the public.\u00a0 The Finance Department strives to insure complete and accurate accounting of all transactions and to report all financial information in accordance with state and local laws.\u00a0 The department works to develop and implement systems to clearly chart the financial health of the city in a manner that is valuable as a management tool and readily understood by our citizens.\u00a0 Financial management is currently charged to the City Manager and the Finance Director.<\/p>\n

Accounts for the City of Clute are organized on the basis of funds, each of which are considered to be a separate accounting.\u00a0\u00a0Governmental units establish and maintain funds as required by law and sound financial administration.\u00a0\u00a0The operations of each fund are summarized below:<\/p>\n
