Sanitation Services Overview<\/h1>

The Sanitation Department<\/strong> provides dependable collection of trash, rubbish, and bulky waste for all residents and businesses within the City of Clute.<\/p>

\ud83c\udfe0 Residential & Cart Commercial Service<\/h2>

Each residence and small commercial cart account within the city receives regular collection twice per week<\/strong>, plus a special pickup for large items and brush once per month<\/strong>.<\/p>

Residential Service Details<\/h3>

Trash must be placed in disposable plastic bags (not grocery bags) and set at the curb for collection no earlier than 5:00 a.m.<\/strong> and no later than 8:00 a.m.<\/strong> on your scheduled day. Plastic garbage bags are available for purchase at City Hall for $8.50 per roll (50 bags per roll)<\/strong>.<\/p>

Residential City Trash Cans Now Available<\/h4>

Residents may obtain a City-issued trash can by paying a $75.00 deposit<\/strong> at City Hall.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Commercial, industrial, and institutional customers are provided dumpster collection service under the same rate structure citywide.<\/p>

Heavy Trash \/ Brush Pick Up \u2014 Once Per Month by Zone<\/h1>

Residents may place heavy trash and brush out for pickup in their assigned zone beginning the Saturday before their designated week<\/strong> and no later than Sunday evening<\/strong>.<\/p>

All brush, limbs, and tree trimmings<\/strong> must be kept separate<\/strong> from other items. Trash and debris are carried to the landfill.<\/p>

If a heavy trash pile is placed outside of its designated zone<\/strong>, the City will charge a pickup fee based on the size of the load<\/strong>. The fee must be paid before pickup. Failure to pay may result in additional fines<\/strong>.<\/p>

Bulk Item Disposal<\/h2><\/div>

Beginning January 1, 2026<\/strong>, mattresses, furniture, and other bulky household items will incur a fee of
$85 per item<\/strong> if the City collects and disposes of the item.<\/p>

Customers are encouraged to dispose of these items independently whenever possible to avoid additional collection costs.<\/p>
